tokyo orientation

okay. so this stuff is old, but since i just got my internet yesterday, i thought i'd start from the start of this little experience. JET starts with orientation in tokyo. so we left from chicago to take a direct flight there. this was the giant plane we took.

and this is where the plane let's everyone know who is coming over...
this was the view from my hotel room (they have us stay at a 5 star hotel in shinjuku). it is the tokyo metropolitan government building. or something close to that anyway.
this was breakfast...i think they think americans eat french fries at every meal.
and this was the view from one of the sessions we attended on our last full day there. double points to anyone who can find tokyo tower.
on our last night there, we went out to get some food by the hotel. we were all way too pooped from the flight over and the long days of endless meetings. erin and i decided to take a special picture for kenny.

and this was the group of us that went out that night. i was so bummed to know that in the morning we were all going different places. things felt safe when we were all together in the same hotel. more like a vacation than a job in a new country. i hope everyone gets their phones and internet soon so i can see how they all are.
